Genesis has sold over 150 million albums and this puts them among the 30 best selling artists of all time. Rush was my favourite band, but when I learned how much they were influenced by Genesis, I was quickly converted. Just listen to how similar "Watcher of the Skies" is to one of the songs on Caress of steel. I can't remember the exact song title, but the rhythms are identical.
